My name is Christina Moyer and I have heard these questions from many family and friends.  Because of this, I decided when I had children, I was going to take their pictures myself.  There was one problem, I didn't know how.

Through trial and error, I figured it out.  I am so glad I made the decision to take their portraits because we have so much fun and my scrapbooks are filled with their beautiful pictures.  See what my Aunt had to say....

Now, you may be saying,

"Christina, I don't have fancy equipment or I don't have room in my house for a studio". 

I don't have fancy equipment either.  I bought a digital camera and it cost me around $300 with accessories.  That was a few years ago so they are dropping in prices every day.

I also created a mini-studio in my house because I don't have room either.  When your children are young, you can use your sofa or when they are bigger, you can use a small area in your house.

I have found, though, the best place for us is outdoors.  I love taking my kids outside and letting them explore nature.  I just follow them around and see what they do.  This way they don't know I'm taking their picture and it is natural.

Over the years, people have asked me if I can teach them how to take their children's portraits.  I have showed them and now they are taking breath-taking pictures of their children.
